Clarification: @AUYouthEnvoy_ reiterates support for the @_AfricanUnion Commission

The African Union Youth Envoy has released a statement reiterating it’s unwaivering support for the African Union Commission to coordinate all youth engagement.

In the statement, the African Union Youth Envoy said; “We support the African Union Commission (AUC) in coordinating all youth engagement and mobilization following the 2nd Pan-African Youth Forum.”

It further noted that it noted declarations and petitions in the youth space around the African Youth Assembly and following same hereby clarify that the Office of the AU Youth Envoy (OYE) published on March 2019 the workplan draft which outlines Africa Youth Assembly as a continent-wide platform, with an annual forum to unite youth voices and serve as a convening space for exchange, peer learning, collaboration and engagement through forums and intergenerational dialogues.

“We have already held our first congress at the AUC, in Addis Ababa, on 24th April 2019, and we seek to make this a space where all African Youth are able to contribute and co-own as our engagement platform.

We look forward to engaging more with youth on the continent and in the diaspora, so that everyone is counted and every voice is heard. We remain committed to bring young people together to have conversations that matter to them,” the statement concluded,
